Injectable treatments are used to slow down the effects of ageing caused by everyday factors including sun damage, smoking, laughing and frowning. As we age the elasticity of skin reduces, and wrinkles naturally occur so injectable procedures like Botox and Dermal fillers can help reduce wrinkles (particularly frown lines, wrinkles around the eyes and laughter lines). When maintaining the skin’s vitality it is imperative to use safe, tried and trusted products that give the appearance of younger looking skin without the need for surgery.

Wrinkle Reducing (Botox) Injections

There are many Botox type products on the market but all are commonly referred to as ‘Botox’ because they all contain the Botulinum Toxin A that prevents muscles from moving whilst smoothing the appearance of wrinkles on the face. At Skintuition, Claire Foley administers world-class ‘Botox’ with eight years of experience achieving amazing results that often surpass expectations.

Botox injections are especially successful for the upper face (frown lines, crows feet, smile lines and brow furrows). They effectively smooth and lift, and can also correct asymmetry and shape the eyebrows into an aesthetically pleasing arch.  Lip lines and neck wrinkles are also successfully treated with Botox when administered by an experienced practitioner. The better we look, the better we feel.

At your no obligation consultation you’ll experience for yourself the gold standard of treatment provided by Skintuition. You’ll be treated professionally and are invited to discuss all your questions in complete confidence. Botox-type treatments can last from 3-6 months and start from £199

“Gummy Smile”

A gummy smile is a result of the upper lip elevating too far above the upper teeth, exposing gums and producing an unattractive “Gummy Smile.” This phenomenon can be attributed to several factors, one of which is caused by a hyperactive muscle elevating the upper lip. Occasionally, the gummy smile is also aggravated by a thinness of the upper lip thus exposing the upper gum even more.

For most people smiling is an expression of joy, but for individuals with a gummy smile, this happy expression can leave them feeling self-conscious resulting in a minimized smile minimize or a preference not to smile at all.   This can have a negative impact on professional, social, and personal relationships. Thankfully, gummy smile reduction is possible, straightforward and effective, using a non-surgical approach by injecting Botox® into the hyperactive muscle of the upper lip. A carefree, natural smile could soon be yours simply by weakening the hyperactive muscles and reducing the elevation of your upper lip.

The Procedure

The procedure takes 15 – 30 minutes and involves the application of a topical anaesthetic, or ice, to numb the area prior to injection.  A tiny amount of Botox® is then injected on each side of the lip to weaken the muscles’ ability to contract. Over 3-4 days, elevation of the upper lip is weakened and your smile is transformed, giving you the confidence to smile whilst showing less of the gum line and feeling free from inhibition.

Results last about four months and most patients find they are elated at being able to smile without feeling self-conscious.

During your no obligation consultation, you are invited to discuss any individual concerns and will be examined to ensure this procedure is right for you.

Hyperhydrosis (excessive sweating)

Hyperhydrosis is a condition affecting the volume of perspiration produced by the body. Estimated to affect 1-2% of the population, it’s a common problem for men and women. The cause of excessive perspiration is unknown however it is thought that genetics play some role and other influencing factors may include particular foods and drinks, nicotine, caffeine, and smells. The condition leaves the affected areas constantly damp making it difficult to carry out every day activities and inevitably causing associated embarrassment and self- consciousness.

There is a quick and straightforward treatment available using Botox® injections which are normally used in the treatment of facial frown lines and wrinkles. Botox® is FDA approved for chronic underarm sweating and generates amazing results in preventing the sweat glands from producing excess levels of moisture. Using Botox, Skintuition carefully reduces and almost eliminates sweating in patients for around 6 months
